Introduction Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) programme aims to train candidates to become landscape architects who are capable and skillful in all aspects of planning, designing and managing landscapes toward establishing a quality, healthy and balance environment for human needs. The programme is comprehensively designed so as to produce students who are wellversed in their fields of specialisation through multi-disciplinary courses. UPM’s Landscape Architecture graduates are capable of facing current challenges in line with the Country's rapid development. They are sensitive and responsible in the utilisation of natural resources to meet the Country’s development needs. Graduates from this programme have found jobs in multi-national consultancy firms overseas. This professional programme is accredited by the Malaysian Public Services Department (JPA) and the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM)

Curriculum Structure
  • The new curriculum structure of the Bachelor Architecture program is in compliance with the
  • Malaysia Landscape Architecture Program Accreditation Procedures & Standards (2013)
  • outlined by the professional body of the Institut Arkitek Landskap Malaysia (ILAM). It also
  • basically adheres to the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) outlined by the
  • Malaysian Higher Education Council (MPTN) at Level 6 (MQA) for the One Major Bachelor
  • Program which has one main area.
  • Students need to complete at least 129 credits to graduate. The total number of student
  • study hours for the Bachelor Architecture program is 5173 hours.
  • Based on ILAM's professional body standards, courses offered in this program are divided
into five (5) major categories / components:
  • a) Basic Knowledge Course (20-30%)
  • b) Theory Course, Planning and Design (30-50%)
  • c) Technology and Construction Course (30-40%)
  • d) Professional Practice Course (5-10%)
  • e) University and Elective Courses (5-10%)
