INTRODUCTION

Biochemistry Bachelor of Science (Hons) Program (3 years) has been offered by the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences since 2004 and now the name of the program has been changed to Bachelor of Biochemistry with Honors to produce graduates who can meet the needs of national talent in biochemistry either in the public sector , private and self employed.

CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

The curriculum structure is based on the elements and guidelines set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. Students need to complete at least 122 credits to graduate.

The courses offered in this program are divided into three (3) major components namely University Courses, Core Courses and Elective Courses:
1. University Course

The courses provided (in accordance with university regulations) to ensure that comprehensive education can be provided to students. A total of 25 credits will be required which includes eleven (11) courses including a 2 credit co-curriculum. The university component of the course consists of humanitarian courses to cultivate pure, ethical and moral values ​​as well as courses aimed at establishing communication skills and entrepreneurship that are essential to the advancement of student careers.

2. Core Course

Courses set out in the program as necessary to achieve sufficient skill level in the field of study. Components comprise basic biochemical courses. A total of 64 credits should be taken all.

3. Elective Course

A total of 33 credits required by the student are elective courses listed in the Elective Biochemistry (21 credits) comprising biochemical elective courses and science courses from other Departments, elective courses in Elective Management and Humanities (6 credits) comprising management courses and Humanity and lastly are elective courses in Independent Elective (6 credits) ie open courses including 3 global language credits. Elective courses in Elective Biochemistry are courses that support and reinforce understanding and skills in biochemical field according to student's choice.
